Scanlon For Congress wants to train the next wave of political organizers

Become a fellow today.

The Mary Gay Scanlon for Congress Campaign is seeking intelligent and diligent fellows to assist with voter outreach and campaign organization ahead of the May 15th Democratic Primary. Fellows are integral to our work and full members of our team.

Over the last 35 years, Mary Gay Scanlon has dedicated her career to serving others and fighting for children, women, the disenfranchised and underserved as a civil rights attorney and former school board president. She is running in the new 5th Congressional District, which encompasses Lower Merion, Delaware County, and South Philadelphia.

Fellowships are a unique way for high school and college students to learn political organizing, policy, and hone their leadership and communication skills, gaining invaluable hands-on experience along the way. Our program is deeply rooted in mentorship - we welcome the participation of all students who want to learn more about politics and grow as leaders in their community.  We are proactively training fellows so that they can get further involved in campaign work down the road, and political involvement has proven to be a great boost to fellows’ resumes and college applications in the past.

Fellows are allowed to be involved for whatever amount of time they choose. To apply, students should send a brief statement of interest to Brian Mechanick at If interested individuals have any questions, please feel free to call Brian at 610-416-7379.

Our democracy is stronger with your participation. We look forward to hearing from you.
